The victim and her husband were Mormons and friends with a close friend of mine.

This sentence in the latest article about the woman's death and the search warrant gave me chills. I can just hear the husband (who is presumed innocent) saying this to throw off any suspicion of him.

"Whittle's husband said the two had stayed up late that Saturday night writing talks they were scheduled to give in church."

Not gonna lie: reading that sent an icicle of fear through me!!

Only a stone-cold killer could think up a line like that!

Hey, Twinker, if you need help with an alibi, you can count on me!

Oh, dear. It looks like this is not going to go well for the husband. I wonder what happened.

Maybe he didn't like what was going to be in her Sacrament meeting talk? Just a guess.

Actually I was told that he was extremely possessive of her time.

(not commenting on this situation)

Every One of these incidents is Horrible, regardless of religious influences. I care a lot about people in these situations, but: Can we discover/understand the reasons?

How is it that men (males) get violent/aggressive to this degree?

In simple terms, was it environmental stemming from earlier (childhood) experiences,

OR

are these conducts inherited or genetically derived?

comment: I understand the pressures that MoMism exerts on individuals, 'I've been to that rodeo'.

It's probably very complex with many contributing factors - genetic, environmental, cultural.

But one characteristic seems to appear and reappear. When a person's expectations of their superior place in the grand scheme of things are thwarted, it can and often does lead to frustration aggression and from there, possible violence. I see this happening in our country politically.

Religion's patriarchy as well seems to effect this kind of expectation. For a man who is insecure, or has a weak character, or is unstable, a woman's autonomy can be threatening. Especially if he's been told to expect to be obeyed.

By all accounts this woman was independent, ambitious, respected, and deeply loved. Might have been hard for a weak man to accept.

It was porn, I tell ya. Just look at their ISP data to find the killer.

"Whittle's husband said the two had stayed up late that Saturday night writing talks they were scheduled to give in church."

That is easy to check so it would be a really dumb lie.

Burglars can turn into murderers when they are caught by surprise. I know someone who had to fight off a burglar who was trying to kill him. If it was a nice house, I would suspect a burglary gone wrong.

I am starting to doubt the protective properties of China-made temple garments.

I really want to know if these made-in-China, "you're in protective custody" holy garments have a tag that says, 'Made in China by heathens'...

Are the labels printed in Adamic?  Deseret?

I just learned that the victim had begun to question "that church". And some of their children had already left "that church".

Husband attended the funeral, was scheduled to speak but changed his mind at the last minute.

Also, from another source close by, that the police are moving slowly but surely as they build the case.

Speculation: Couples can and do fight over money. Perhaps she was in favor of helping a son or daughter and he lost control and beat her up.

She may have been planning to leave or divorce him.

Or maybe he went berserk when she told him that he could write their Sacrament talks, but she was going to refuse to say anything. Keep in mind that image in Mormon church life is everything- always maintaining a perfect, happy lifestyle.

My condolences to the family and I think the hubby did it.

Money is the most common cause of divorce. Usually one party makes it and the other spends it.
