I just saw a post on FB by Seve Benson's wife Claire saying he has suffered a stroke. Posted about 3 hours ago.

I'm so sorry to hear about that. Claire wrote that it happened on Feb 21 and the prognosis seems good. I hope so. Steve deserves a long and fulfilling retirement.

Oh, dear! I wish Steve well, and I'm sending good thoughts to the both of them.

Ditto! I hope there is a full and fast recovery so they can get back to enjoying life together.

Sad to hear this. Steve has a keen mind, and to think that it may be negatively effected by extraneous variables is irksome.

Positive thoughts Steve. Wishing you only the best.

HH =)

The poster "devoted" provided this link on a different thread. It gives some reassuring details:

I have long admired Steve's intellect. I sure hope he recovers.

His “I’m Appalled” cartoons (with Bagley) in the BYU Daily Universe helped me survive my first year at BYU in the late 70s. I hope he recovers soon.

Benson is a tough old bird and my money is on him in this fight. Getting him to slow down and do what the doctors tell him will be a fulltime job for Claire. He doesn't do slow down well. My Hubs has had three strokes, two little and one big, so I know you have to just go one day at a time. I do hope he is up and about soon. Who else is going to argue with me about Santa :)
