Our pal Ammon Bundy has been hanging out in Utah. He's wanted for arrest in Idaho. I wonder why Utah hasn't handed him over already?

It sounds like he was under the radar and has now been identified. If that is the case, Idaho must file extradition papers and go through the legal process.

It will take some time, and meanwhile Bundy will probably relocate again.

If there is an active warrant for a crime (or debt?) from Idaho that includes extradition, he can be arrested & taken into custody...

I'm not versed about civil judgments.

Contempt of court is probably separate from criminal matters also, the Utah governor will also have some influence on this, favorable or not.in

Our Utah Governor and his friends are probably hiding him.

Idaho may not want to extradite him.

They could be thinking that he’s out of the state, so he’s not our problem. If we extradite him, and his friends decide to take some action, then it becomes our problem. As long as he’s in Utah, he’s their problem.

Remember, this is the state where the sheriff didn’t want to serve papers on him.

Ha! Ha! Exactly. He’s Utah’s problem now and he will draw his nutty followers down there and we get rid of them too.

Part of most any extradition matter is 'who pays, who performs?' the prisoner, this can be done a couple of ways:

for adjoining states, the police / sheriff deputies can meet at the county line,

or,

the state requesting extradition can send an officer to the state where the fugitive is found/located.

IF Utah wants him GONE, they can arrest (him) and deliver him to the county or state where the warrant was issued.

  
  

All he needs to do is evade capture until Jesus comes and he'll be home free.

Well, one of his ilk just got sentenced to 180 days in jail. Now he is whining about how tough life is for him in jail. Waaa Waaa. He doesn't like his bed. It is too cold to suit him. People have the audacity to yell at him! Oh my. He has held himself out as a "Constitutional Scholar" and makes his money off people buying his brand of woo. He annoys people just trying to do their jobs and then puts it on YT. Major bully.
Now he is begging for 25K for a lawyer. He had a lawyer but of course HE could have done better. Hey, at least he admits that insulting the judge and the court in general did him no favors. But really, it was their fault because they triggered him.

I hope Bundy is in the same position soon.

According to the article, his location was pinpointed to Washington County. The clue was the Iron County school calendar on the fridge.

Through an agreement between the Washington County and Iron County school districts, New Harmony students are bussed to Cedar City in Iron County.
