Have you ever pretended not to be annoyed when giving hard earned money, in a blue or white or grey envelope, to two teenage boys who knocked on your door unannounced, not knowing what that money was going to be used for, and being hungry because you haven’t eaten anything for a whole day and night?

Then you must be a mormon.

When I was a kid I tried the fasting bit and figured out it was stupid.

I never fasted on my mission, nor after I came home. I may have contributed to the fast offerings, but the moment I got home from church I was making something to eat.

I convinced myself that fasting made me more spiritual. Oh barf!

One "attribute" of mormonism that I hung on to for way too long was the notion that it is perfectly acceptable for someone from the church to show up, unannounced, at your door after 8:00 PM, with a message, and you don't think anything odd of it.
