I don't have a best or worst lover's break-up story, but one time I tried to break up a cat fight between a calico and black cat with white nose & paws. Neither of them appreciated my efforts and luckily I had a box of band-aids.

Not a break up but I know one fellow who's wife told him she couldn't love him anymore after learning he didn't believe in the cult any longer.
