“The Rising Generation chronicles the long history of emancipation in the United States through the cradle-to-grave experiences of a generation of black New Yorkers. Born into precarious freedom after the American Revolution and reaching adulthood in the lead-up to the Civil War, this remarkable generation ultimately played an outsized role in political and legal conflicts over slavery’s future, influencing both the nation’s path to the Civil War and changes to the US Constitution.”

Strengthen the Rising Generation’s Faith in Christ

"So very much of the focus lately has been on the youth and the importance of them seeking the truth and gaining greater testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel. It seems to me that everything that has been revealed in the last few years has been designed to strengthen us, but most especially to strengthen the youth. It is vital that the youth of today have a solid understanding of the gospel and a firm testimony of our Saviour Jesus Christ. It is not enough for the children and youth of today to rely on the light and testimony of their parents, teachers, and leaders. Satan and his followers are working every moment of the day to capture us, “for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.” (2 Nephi 2:27)"
Youth Should Seek Guidance through Prayer
"As we teach our children and encourage them to gain their own testimonies, it comes back to a boy named Joseph who, almost 200 years ago, was reading in the Bible and seeking his own answers as to which church to join."
...
"As we help strengthen the rising generation, they will be prepared even more than anyone has been before to face the world in which we live and be shining examples to everyone that they meet."

I guess it's not a copyrighted phrase so anyone is free to use it. I wonder what the 'inspiration' was for the Mormons to grab it. I hope they don't lay claim to originating it. Obviously, it was out there already long before.
I can see it easily becoming a rallying cry because it sounds poetic. It's just not original to them. Likely many in the church won't realize that and will take comfort in the apparent evidence that their leaders are so inspired.
