He ruined his followers lives by stealing their families, wives, children, and you respect him because he was a ruthless dictator who had whole huge wagon trains full of innocent women and children murdered and blamed it on the natives, so the US Military would commit genocide against them?

He was an abusive dictator and a serial sexual predator.

BY was an abusive misogynist, racist white supremacist.
I respect his city planning and pioneering spirit, but I don’t respect the murderous sexist abusive aspects of the man, that are completely opposite of what I was indoctrinated to believe.

BY was the dictator of a territory outside the jurisdiction of the United States. I would call him an outlaw and genocidal colonialist. Like a Pancho Villa of the IMW but with real ambition.

However, having 56 wives was clearly asking for trouble. It only took one who was handy with arsenic.
