Was sent a nonsense clip about Book of Mormon proof.

The person said you can't prove the book of Mormon is true or false.

You can only provide evidence and if the evidence is strong enough you can be convinced it's true.

So..... Isn't the evidence proof?

Then was told I need to stop looking at anti mormon sites.

So I asked if changing the introduction to the book of Mormon wasn't proof that the Lamanites are no longer the principle ancestors of the Native Americans since the church itself now claims they're merely among the ancestors.

The response is the sound of Mormon Crickets.

"The person said you can't prove the book of Mormon is true or false."

Your friend is correct. You cannot disprove magical thinking. God makes all things, no matter how absurd, possible. Whether you live your life that way is a matter of choice and taste.

Then again, maybe God introduced magical thinking to weed out the rubes.

Maybe its Gods way of avoiding creepy people following him around while strolling down the golden paved street of heaven. This way you see him walking by as you are washing your magical chariot and you just give a wave and he says, "Hey Brad hows it going?" You say "Great" and he smiles as he walks by.

Maybe that is heaven for all parties involved. Yea, that's the ticket. Now where is that rock and my hat.

Thus, the BOM could be true. (Snicker)

If the church proves anything, it's that a fool and his money are soon parted.

It's thinking like that gives us these types of word game claims:

"I can jump higher than the Chrysler Building." True, but, this is due to the fact the Chrysler building can’t jump.

Desperate times call for fun with semantics. Which is all Mormons have left.

Evaluating the quality of evidence and establishing standards for evidence is apparently a new thing to him.

Pro tip: If the evidence requires faith, it's a low standard for evidence.

LOL. Yes. A burning bosom is also a low standard for evidence

Generations of archeologists have graduated from BYU with the goal of finding the evidence to prove the Book of Mormon true.

Where are they now?

When I was a Zoobie back in the mid seventies, I took a non-major archaeology class called something like archaeology of the southwest US. Day 1 the prof told us that this isn't the class if you want to prove the BoM was true.

I'm pretty sure most archaeology (and geology, that I studied) majors and profs knew that the historicity of the BoM and young earth creationism is bogus.

In the everchanging mythology of mormonism, you might like to know that early apostles considered the days if creation to be time periods not literal days.

I forget if it Hyde or Pratt that wrote the earth was at least 2 billion years old.
