Millions of Jews, gypsies etc died at the hands of the Nazi's. You don't hear about May 8th day, the date Nazi Germany surrendered in 1945.

It's a shame what happened to some of the Pioneers. In the end, they chose to go to the Salt Lake Valley by their own free will.

Millions of people during WWII did not have that choice.

And that's why I didn't go to my ward with my kids today so we wouldn't have to hear all that shit. We went instead to a nondenominational church that spoke about no one but Christ Himself and Heavenly Father. Ironically, during the sermon, the preacher talked about "the plan of salvation." I just smiled at that one. :-)

Thank you for bringing this up! I have been getting barraged with email from mom implying that I am a traitor to the brave pioneers who risked their lives for me so I could be in TSCC. Arrrgh!

My cousin posted on FB that her husband was happy she was from "good Pioneer Stock". blech
