That's great! I can just imagine all the stories of faith promoting rumors people can share.
I had a college roommate tell me a young RM went down in a single engine plane crash and they never found his body. The ward members said he was so righteous he was translated and his plane crashed when he was transfigured out of the cockpit!
Any one else spot "Mombies" or know someone who did?
Which in my prophetic dream is the City Creek Mall and it's inevitable and certain catastrophic failure, followed by bankruptcy of the holding company, the revelations of money laundering, the accusations of embezzlement, the denials and ultimately the blaming of one corrupt individual, the going into receivership and the requirements to make transparent all the financial breakdancing that took place to put the monstrosity together)
Culminating in the Mombie Rapture which is the premature opening of the graves and the assumption of Mormon royalty into heaven without tasting death.
...I'd like to propose a specific use. I think it's perfect for those Mormon super moms who've been ground down to walking dead status from all the domestic work, child care, penny pinching, living vicariously through their families, etc. that they believe leads to holiness. Mom + zombie = mombie.
A great word and thanks for coining it. I'd like to use it for all those people who save every penny - often denying themselves necessities - so that they can afford the "spiritually uplifting experience" of attending the Temple. Blah!
When I was a TBM I thought, "What a worthy sacrifice"! Now I see it as a silly waste of money. But the Mombies will fall into line and lurch off to the temple to receive imaginary blessings that will never happen.
(I think this word is going to catch on just like a "meme".)
