Another MMM (Mormon-Money-Making Scheme)

Just read a facebook message about a friend's son's first year at BYU. Tried to rent his textbooks - alas, every one is a special BYU edition, not available as a rental.

Don't know too many details.

I just looked a site that supplies rental books and for every book I clicked on, there was "no match".

Also, wonder how many of the books they publish themselves?

How do they keep their accreditation?

It happenes at other universities as well

Many major universities have professors that teach from their own textbooks which are only available at the university bookstore.

They are often not well enough known to have distribution beyond their own required reading list.
