As a nevermo, I could never get it straight in my head the order of the Mormon Heirarchy.

Starting at the bottom of the totem pole, what is lineup? For example, is stake president higher up the pole than a bishop or is it the other way around?

Thanks in advance.

I guess everyone needs a calling? One that pays six figures, has amazing retirement benefits, expense accounts and millions to dole out to pet projects not to mention adulation from millions of adoring fans of the calling?

Yep, after checking (again and again) Mormon Jesus isn't a god worth my worship.

Then it goes general member.

Then it goes men with priesthood.

Deacon, teacher, priest, elder, high priest.

All of these jerks who are in the ward are led by the Bishop.

Several Wards form a stake and the Stake President is over the stake, so over the Bishops.

Then you have the Area Authorities who are over several stakes.

Then you have the General Authorities.

And in charge of all those dillweeds are the 12 apostles. And over those overpaid, useless hacks is the President and his first councelors.

There are a few other caveats about the Presiding Bishop and other crap.

But that is so boring. Someone probably has a chart somewhere.

I'm disappointed in you RJ that you didn't say fuck or shit at least once. You did give a fine description of who sits on who though.

According to SoCalNevermo, it's whose nose is in the asshole of the one on top that is a lesser being.

And that chart is pretty helpful.

You'll notice the funny thing is though that their should be something about the Relief Society in there.

But there's not.

Because chicks don't count.

Yes, it was very helpful. Thanks zeezrom.

There is a heirarchical structure in mainstream Christianity, especially in the RC.

The Average Joe Blow (baptized)
Acolyte
Brother (in Monastic orders)
Deacon (ordained)
Priest or Monk (ordained)
Monsignor (just an exalted title in a parish)

Bishop of a diocese
Archbishop (of a really big diocese)
Cardinal (archbishop of a really, really big diocese)
Then Pope if you should be so lucky.

There are Lutheran and Episcopal orders as bishop and archbishop in the European countries, but in these United States, the head honcho is known as the Presiding Bishop.

All of this stuff as stake president, general authorities, etc. was confusing to me.

Wait.

You don't have to remember that, because it's not true.

On a real totem pole, the figure at the bottom is most important so at the bottom should be the "Great and Powerful Oz" with Monson next up and so-on.

Thanks, I didn't know that about that with the totem pole. I learn something everyday.

Women are not even on the Phood's radar. Well, a Primary teacher here, RS leader there. Yeah, that will apease the wimmin.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, er... Headquarters, musical chairs plays on. Whom will be "called of God" to fill the chair of the Big Cheese? We must call a speshul meeting to see who is the most "faithful" of all the Phoods [with a prerequisite business and law degree, of course].
