Fundamentalist colonies in Mexico being targeted for kidnappings

I was listening to the most recent Joe Rogan Experience podcast today and he had Shane Smith from Vice Magazine on as a guest. Shane mentioned that a story they’re working on is the fact that Fundamentalist Mormon colonies in Mexico are being targeted for kidnappings by the Narco cartels. He also mentioned offhand that there is a Mitt Romney connection to Mormon polygamy colonies. I had heard of the Romney connection but I hadn’t heard of the kidnappings.

The Romneys came out of the colonies in Colonia Juarez

I believe Mitt's Dad was born there. Here's a bit of post I made earlier on this.

You're Correct That George Romney Was Born in Mexico...

The colony was apparently established "to preserve a remnant of the seed."
