Apparently, moving in with Joseph Smith was extremely hazardous to monogamous marriage. He had no respect and considered all attractive women "his," a view of women as narcissistic personal property shared by Brigham Young.
I am reminded of BY's comments from the pulpit, in public, that Zina Huntington "was Joseph's and therefore now was his and her legal husband should not take what belonged to the prophet."
