1. Well, even though coming out of denial hurts like Hell, I suppose I'm grateful for The Truth. Without The Truth, how can we adapt? How can we survive? I trusted Mormons because they were Mormons, without knowing the truth about them and their cult. I was abused.

2. I'm grateful for my children, whom I love unconditionally!

3. I have no husband, but maybe I'm grateful for that, too, because of my experiences. No one is constantly making demands on me, putting me down, or ruining my life.

4. I'm grateful for good health, good friends, nature (including pets).

5. I agree about being grateful for a car!

6. I'm grateful for my house in the mountains, from which everything I enjoy and need is less than 20 minutes away.

I'm jealous about your house in the mountains. That would be sweet!

6. Being free of the church
7. That I have actually found a way to serve my local community that helps them, as opposed to doing something counter-productive like spreading guilt.
8. Music

A year ago my older son was a college drop out, he had just been fired from his mall job (at Christmastime?), and he had a pretty messed up girlfriend. I had no idea how all of this would shake out.

He was accepted, by the grace of God, and not based on his grades, to a well ranked small university in a great part of our state.

This year, I can spend time with him without a hidden agenda to try to figure out what was going on in his head.

Now, I have yet to reconcile with my in-laws, and I have no interest in doing so. They are coming over for Christmas Eve, and I plan to be very busy in the kitchen most of the night.

My kids- one a convert to Mormonism and my BIC grandson...He is so innocent and will be brainwashed for sure but I am so glad he made it to this earth....but I do have hope my daughter will wake up one day.

Love my home - the first new home I ever owned but I have enjoyed it now for yrs.

Pets- Dogs in particular. I dearly love them.

Love my ability to read whatever I want, travel when I can and spend time with good friends and family

Love my extended family-spread all over

Love teaching-my profession

Love and am grateful for eyesight and hearing- I would be lost without either because music is so important to me and so is seeing nature, etc.

Love my friends who comfort when needed and laugh with me always

Love my faith - not Mormonism

Love my favorite snacks, HOT TEA, and fabulous restaurants

Love to have a warm fire and air conditioning when needed.

Life is great with many ups and downs of course

Last but not least is the ability to help others. It is part of who I am and at this time of year it gives me great satisfaction.

I am truly thankful I found RFM this year. I have unlocked forty years worth of angst that I did not know I had buried. This is a truly beautiful place for me.

I am thankful for the disagreements here because they were not allowed by my Bishop/Patriarch father. The Lord's way or the highway--those were your choices, and he defined the Lord.

I am thankful for everyone who has given me a peek into your life.
It is a great gift to know you are not the only one.

That I have been able to provide for my family...that we live in a beautiful home that is paid for...that we are able to provide a home for our handicapped adult daughter, and that our government funds her care 24/7...that our son is a hard worker, a great provider for his family, that he is a wonderful husband and father and most of all, for my beautiful wife who loves me when I'm happy, when I'm sad and when I"m crazy....
