I'm going to be on your island for the next week. I know I promised somebody I'd let them know if I ever made it to England, but for the life of me, I can't remember who I said that to. So a blanket post instead!

I'll mostly be in London, so if you're around that area, email me and perhaps we can meet for drinks. It'd be fun, I've met rfmers all over the world and they're always awesome.

You've obviously never been to a Munch :-)

So... how about

you exchange e-mail addresses.... puck says he'll be in such'n'such a pub at date/time with a newspaper/map/A-Z on the table in front of him
you arrive and look for newspaper/whatever, and say "Hi, I'm Blindmag, are you Puck?"

Puck says "Yes thats me" no one's mentioned being ex-mo, TSCC or exchanged any secret handshakes..... Deed done

Nowadays it is celebrated but when I was young - oh good grief - GET RID OF YOUR ACCENT was the advice to us clogsparkers.

'Appen ah could gi thee a run fur thy brass laddie'

Hey UK-based 'Anointed One', welcome back! I think there's a few of us still awaiting the follow up post on the circumstances surrounding your eyes being opened following your post about the 2nd anointing. Any chance you might share this sometime soon? If you have already done so and I missed it, apologies, but a link would be appreciated.
All the best

Can I hitch onto this thread to repeat the call for English RMs who would be willing to be interviewed as part of research for third novel by an English exmo (Jenn Ashworth)?

If interested, e-mail me at packham@teleport.com

Have a great time in England, Puck!

sorry guys, thanks for all the responses, but I had really limited internet while I was there and was never able to check back. I also didn't realize that you can't click on people's names to email anymore...

the main purpose of my trip was grad school interviews, so who knows, maybe we'll all have a second chance next year!

a burning question:

if King Edward VIII was forced to abdicate the throne to marry a commoner then how come if Prince William marries a commoner she gets a title? I don't understand...

end of silly hijack...carry on!!

which is why there is debate about any future status of Camilla if Charles becomes King.

A recent poll suggested that the majority prefer a Charles abdication in favour of William. Times have changed and many folks feel that after Diana her children are best placed to continue her legacy.

That kind of explains it but there are traditional issues also.

Kate is lovely and she will make a fabulous Queen and is just right for William. This is a love match for sure and we all love a true love story.

There were "issues" with Edward and Mrs Simpson. Too chummy with Adolf Hitler...
