"God qualifies ppl for their callings"

"God is No Respector of Persons" (Bible AND D&C)

eta: "Satan can't enter the Temple"

TBMs have a long, long history of letting 'leaders' off the hook on these phony, two-bit cliches;

a) what others?

b) any hope for deflating these hackneyed phonyisms?

In this case, mormons only say PART of the phrase.

To wit, I will start the phrase AND add the actual finish of it:

"God qualifies people for their callings.... as long as they are already qualified for them."

"The Lord is no respecter of person... al boundaries."

Oh, you mean it's one of those phrases them came up with during the Tower of Babel debacle!

Here are the two, contradictory cliches that drive me crazy:

The church is perfect but the people aren't.

You need to obey your church leaders.

Ummm, so I'm supposed to put my eternal salvation in the hands of someone else, someone the church admits isn't perfect, and trust them to make decisions for me? No thanks.

a sad, tired bunch of meaningless cliches.

Sad, Very Sad that people give any value to these things.

Good stuff here! And what was that one declaration that is made over and over by the GAs, and repeated by TBMs (internally or externally depending on there level of brainwash)... I think it went something like: "God will never allow the prophet to lead the church astray"
