LDS Inc chooses to willfully ignore common sense policy.

http://www.firstcongregationalbranford.org/safechurch.html

'Section IV - YOUTH PROGRAM GUIDELINES

In order to protect children, who are especially vulnerable to abuse, the following guidelines will be observed.

A. Program settings

1. Children's programs will take place either in open areas, rooms with glass doors, or rooms with open doors, and never in remote or private spaces.

2. Two or more adults will be present at all children's programs whenever possible. Adults will avoid placing themselves in compromising situations by being alone with a child out of sight of other adults. If a child has not been picked up on time by parents, two supervising adults will remain with the child whenever possible. Children will not be driven home by a lone supervising adult whenever possible. Instead, parents should be asked to pick up the child or children, or with parental consent, two supervising adults will bring the child home whenever possible.'

This section seems quite different than LDS standard operating procedure.

I like this. Way different from what the Morg does though, haha.

The fact that TSCC doesn't even have child safety guidelines shows how out of touch with reality they are.

Our church makes everyone involved with any youth activity do a background check, take training to be a mandated reporter, and document everything! My hubby had to do all that just to build a damn parade float. But hey, I'd rather know they were doing all that they legally could to keep kids safe than trust in the priesthood to tell them who's bad & who's good!

This is another reason we use paid youth workers. They all have to be life scanned and have background checks.

Do Mormon youth workers know what a side ways hug even is?

(Shoulder to shoulder, not front to front)

Mormons certainly know what one is! It's how they hug when on dates! Because we all know that if a boy hugs a girl front to front, he won't be able to resist her when her breasts touch his chest and he'll just rip her clothes off and do her right then and there!

But you can't hug a youth like that, or they might think you're on a date...so, front to front hugging is the only right choice! Extra chest to chest contact if possible!
