So mormon churches are above the law ?
They should get special treatment because they are a "church" ?

Don't we have something in our constitution about equal treatment under the law ?

yes! that's the one! The other one about church being cramped is a close second (having dealt with 4 wards in one building for over a year, I think this is a BS excuse).

I love the quote "the increase in the square footage is for extra space for children to have Bible study lessons" --- already kicking old Joe and his BOM to the curb.

“We’re disappointed at the opposition, but understand where it’s coming from,” he said. “The problem they are not understanding is that this is a church, not a house or a multi-unit complex, and the increase in the square footage is for extra space for children to have Bible study lessons."

Bible study lessons my a$$.

Excuse that doesn't make sense: It was fine for Jamaica but not Flushing. Why? Because Jamaica is stacked on top of each other.

White Lie: Don't want to use the space we have on Sanford because we don't want to displace people. Probable truth: they want that piece of real estate.

White Lie: They need more space for Bible lessons. Probable truth: they want to keep the plans as they are and the kids won't be learning about any Bible.

Excuse: feel sorry for us after all we are a church and it's for the children.

White Lie: “There is such a precedent for this kind of building that we have normally in the church, and this is a standard building pattern,” he said. “These buildings have been granted all over the country.”. Where? Not where I live.

Bible study for the children? Mainstreaming indeed. That is a lie, but it sure sounds good to the rest of the christian world.

“The problem they are not understanding is that this is a church, not a house or a multi-unit complex, and the increase in the square footage is for extra space for children to have Bible study lessons.”

Really? The objectors do not understand that this is for a church? That's such a typical, Mormon thing to say-- "You aren't thinking what I want you to think, you must not understand".

“…..and the increase in the square footage is for extra space for children to have Bible study lessons.”

Let just have a look at this one al by itself.

“to have Bible study lessons”. An attempt to look like main stream christians. BOM, D&C and all the conference and Profit teachings and lesson manual crap got left out here didn it! (masters of ommision)

“….extra space for children to have Bible study lessons.” A pathetic plea for the children. (what a disingenuous prick!) Only a-holes and Satanists would not want the “children” to have bible study don cha know!

“…extra space for children to have Bible study lessons.” Not even a half truth at best. Expansion for children’s bible study is a red herring at best. As if there are no other reasons to expand? (masters of ommision)

All this lying in one single response, one single sentence.

Mormons don't study the Bible, so this is the lie:

“We’re disappointed at the opposition, but understand where it’s coming from,” he said. “The problem they are not understanding is that this is a church, not a house or a multi-unit complex, and the increase in the square footage is for extra space for children to have Bible study lessons.”
