Candidates for office in Utah are filling out their pledges to campaign fairly. See
http://www.voterlink.utah.gov/Fair%20Campaign%20Practice.pdf. In 2010 we saw incumbent senator Bob Bennett (a grandson of Heber J. Grant the 7th Mormon prophet) make this pledge and then we watched as he hired Tim Stewart (see
http://www.facebook.com/bennettconsultingdc) to run his lobbying firm after it become known that Stewart (a counselor in the McLean Virginia Stake Presidency) was behind the sleazy temple mailer that was nearly effective and definitely in violation of this pledge. See
http://www.sltrib.com/D=g/ci_15312005 for more info. Now Utah voters are asking themselves whether any of this new crop of candidates in Utah are going to take the Pledge seriously or whether they're going to break their word like Bennett did. Mormons sure believe in being honest in their dealings with their fellowman except in cases where they think they can get away with being sleazy to get gain.
