Did you have to hold the priesthood to perform a naked touching ceremony? If so, Men would have had to touch women in the temple. If women were allowed to naked touch women, then it means the priesthood was not necessary to perform the ceremony.

It was all Same-Sex Touching.

Go figure.

I guess the women touching women were acting as "priestesses" - which I interpret as having the authority to use priesthood, under the authority of a male priesthood holder.

Yes, I was told in a hushed tone by a TBM or two that women really do hold the priesthood power in the Temple because the Lord is so close by. See, secretly the LDS church really is feminist, just as there is a Heavenly Mother that we don't discuss because we don't want to sully her name with the things and concerns of this Earth.

:O

All this same-sex touching talk sounds like a porno opportunity waiting to happen.

I can say with complete confidence though, that after 10 years of my wife and I doing initiatory work as patrons, that it almost never turned into a brothel. LOL

Yeah, the women temple workers are given a bit of priesthood in order to perform the initiation rituals.

I wonder if back when the initiatory rights were first introduced if just men were doing them though?

Kinda sounds like a Druid gathering minus the Stonehenge ambiance...and I'm sure hilarious/disturbing/revolting to watch depending on the appearance of the naked bodies involved...

I did lots of family history in my active days, and went through washing and annointing many times for deceased family members in the 1995-2004 era.

We ladies wore "shields" which were something like hospital gowns -- you always had to hold them shut when walking from the locker room to the initiatory room.

But it was done discretely and respectfully. Nothing sexual about it. No touching of "private areas." Nothing seen by the lady doing the intitatory work.

And yes, I was told that the lady doing the initiatory work was granted limited priesthood powers to do the washings and annointings for the Lord.
