The reason it caught my eye is because this mormon/married/attorney works for the same law firm as my step-son.
He's married with a couple of BYU educated daughters.

While I don't want step-son to ever cheat on his wife, or beat up his girlfriend, I can't tell you how happy I am that one of his mentors is such a scum.

My SS looks at the church and everyone in it with these incredible rose colored glasses. It will most likely take a collection of guys like his mentor to knock the church off its pedestal.

One crazy, frustrated, mormon at a time.

Mormonism is stuck in details/legalities; they seem ALWAYS to miss the Main concepts-values of morality/Christ-Like living.

to me, those are as obvious as the statues on the top of their temples.

Ok, I'm here to tell you that I look at the congregation differently now. It's stories like this, as well as my own experience, that has changed my perspective. Call me cynical, but I sit in church and look around and wonder which one is cheating on his/her spouse, which one smacks their kids around, which children are innocent victims, which woman has an atty boyfriend in another city, which one looks at porn before anyone wakes up in the morning. Is that horrible or what? This story proves that sh*t happens everywhere. What a mess. Let the ward shunning begin, anyway.

This guy goes to church, and presents himself as a stellar member. He mentors young new (mormon) attorney's. Shows them the ropes on how to be a shinning light in your work and church life. Has them over to his house for dinner. Having mormon connections can carry you a long way in that world. This connector seems a bit broken.
I feel sorry for his wife. I think it would be humiliating to have that news splashed all over the papers. The church rumor mills are probably lit up like Christmas.

At the time I thought that was ridiculous, and she obviously left the Church because she was offended. ;) I've come to realize that I was pretty naive.

and then the wife of a TBM nephew was arrested for a relationship with an underage student of hers.

You'd never guess by looking and observing either one that they would be capable of these types of behaviour.

She was just a dynastic mistress. They never had sex. No know children, no proof.

Besides, there's nothing in the temple reccomend questions about hitting people.

Why do they alway focus on bad people's Mormonism?

IMO the New Canaan Ward in the Yorktown New York Stake is perhaps the wealthiest (or darn close) Ward in the whole church. That place is crawling with wealth. The average home is a 7500sf palace on 2 acres with a price of approx. 4 million dollars.

Who cleans the toilets in that ward? I'd really like to know.

I used to be a florist, so maybe I have a more critical eye when it comes to events like weddings.
With their kind of money you'd think they could have hired a florist to decorate for the wedding. It looked like a free job from the RS. The decorations on the railing were so mormon. Same with the cake. That seems weird to me. Maybe they put all their money into buying the house. The wedding looks like they put a couple hundred dollars into a dress and a cake, if even that.

Amen, Mia. I was really hoping the photos are just snapshots taken while following the actual photog around. I was also puzzled, figuring that if nothing else was extravagant, at least...the photos!
