Issanath is mentioned in the Nath Namavali, an ancient document from North India out of the Nath Sampradaya, or tradition, a very ancient school of esoteric yoga. He was taught yoga by ChetanNath, and ChowrangeeNath. This is prior to his work in Palestine.

After his return to India, he is mentioned in the Bhavishya Maha Purana, where King Shalivahan asks him to teach his people in Kashmir.

Dr. Fida Hassnain has done a lot of work on this subject, and published several books. Interesting topic, bears further study. The Muslim owners of the tomb at Roza Bal will not allow any sampling of DNA from the tomb of Yuz Asaf in Sri Nagar.

Enjoy your studies!

So is Issanath the Hindi name for Jesus?

Not Hindi. Sanskrit. Nath is a term meaning "lord", and is a common component of the names of many fully invested Nath yogis, or even some highly-evolved yogis of other traditions as well. The first Nath yogi is said to be "Adi Nath", meaning the first, and which is also an appellative for Supreme Lord Shiva, the Supreme Yogi.

So Jesus' name was Isa, or Issa, (both pronounced "isha"), which is both a translation of the name "Jesus" into Sanskrit, and also means the same as Sanskrit "Isha" or "Ishvara", or supreme soul or person.
