Romney family history/Mormonism flavor- We find Mitt Romney relation to Mormon icon, Apostle Parley P. Pratt. Wikipedia indicates Pratt had 12 wives and the practice did not fare well for Pratt in marrying his 12th wife as she was legally married to Hector McLean. Mc Lean (a non Mormon) who could not accept Mormonism tracked Pratt to Van Buren, Arkansas and murdered him for marrying his wife Eleanor and running away with her and the children. Back in Utah Upon hearing of their beloved Apostles death, Mormons in-part decided to avenge Pratt's murder by the killing of 120 innocent men, women and children at Mountain Meadow's Southwest of Cedar City Utah. These immigrants just happened to be traveling through Utah from Arkansas.

Parley P. Pratt had twelve wives, Thankful Halsey Pratt his first wife died in childbirth. Within two month's of Thankful's death Pratt married his second wife, a widow, Mary Ann Frost who was willing to share his bed during his incarceration. She later divorced him as he embraced polygamy.

An attempt to recover Parley P. Pratt's remains to move them to Salt Lake City found an empty grave near Alma, Arkansas.

Pratt's living descendants are estimated at between thirty and fifty thousand
