5-5 - 101. a.
Soliciting means the practice of engaging in, or tempting to engage in, conversation with any person at a residence for the purposes of making or seeking to make or facilitate a sale of goods or services buying means of door to door solicitation.

B. Solicit a resident means to knock on the door or ring a bell at a residence, or speak with a person at the premises, for the purposes of selling, seeking to sell, or obtaining orders or perspective customers for goods and services.

Seat. Any occupants other residents may give notice of a desire to refuse solicitations by displaying a signs stating quote no solicitation unquote, or similar wording, which shall be posted on or near the main entrance door. A display of such a signed constitutes notice to any solicitor that the inhabitants of the residents do not desire to receive and or do not invite solicitors. It is the duty of the solicitor to check each residence for the presence of any sign or notice and to refrain from soliciting where present.

D. It is a class C misdemeanor for any person to solicit a residence or a person at a residence were a no solicitation or similar notice has been given against soliciting as provided in this section.

"notice" includes telling an organization they are not welcome at the residence.
