Alternate Association for BYU Alumni

As a BYU grad I'm continually annoyed by the letters I get from the official BYU Alumni Association asking me to donate money. I'm annoyed in how the bylaws of the association are written in such a way that makes it 100% certain that the FP/12 will always be able to completely control the leadership and direction of this association. Personally I'd like to do more networking with my fellow alumni but on terms where the alumni have a real voice, and they're not just being puppets of the FP/12.

How could we go about organizing such a group? How could we make sure the bylaws protect the rights of fellow alumni's opinions (especially when they differ from ours) being heard?

I used to get them from Ricks Alumni.....but they got filed in the shredder....never have given a $0.01 to any thing Cult related and won't be starting now....
