What do you learn from the study of religious texts?
You learn that anything bad that happens to you in life is caused by some sin: Or you're having a trial from God to see if you're loyal to God. Just like Job in the Bible.
You learn that it’s OK to break the law if it’s for a religious purpose, like to have plural marriages.
You learn that it’s OK to hate the sin and show your love for the sinner by shunning them, shocking them or whatever it takes to force them into conformity with Gods will.
You learn not to look at facts, consider science or come to any educated or logical conclusions but to rely on “the spirit” for truth and guidance.
Ahhhh yes! The wisdom and blessing that come from Scripture study!
These are all reasons why I let my daughters read the scriptures. They need to see for themselves what's being taught so that when the time comes they can make rational judgments for themselves. Until then, it's my job to protect them from the crazy.

And Ahad begat Ehad, and Ehad begat Befad, and Befad begat Lefad, and Lefad begat Omner, and Omner begat Imner, and Imner begat Amnorihah, and Amnorihah begat Zelph, and Zelph begat Libnah, and Libnah begat Balsac, and Balsac begat Nutsac, and Nutsac begat...zzzzzzzzzz.
Scripture Study taught me that TSCC doesn't actually follow the teachings of Jesus Christ; and only uses select quotes from the bible to provide the illusion of continuity of doctrine.
