Probably when the Mormon church was getting mistaken for the fundy's polygamist ways. They probably took a stance to separate themselves from them...just my guess.

You've gotta laugh at the semantic shades of gray:

"The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been condemned by the mainstream Mormon Church.."

The mainstream Mormon church is pretty much a fundamentalist organization to begin with, so their condemnation of the FLS can only be seen as a case of the charcoal-coated pot telling the carbon-smudged kettle "you're even less white and delightsome than I am."
