The happiest moment of my life happened the other day. I had just pulled into my son's daycare, where he was playing outside with his buddies. Through the fence, he spotted my car, and at once knew I was there. As I opened the door, I heard his voice call, "it's my Daddy," and watched as his tiny legs moved as fast as they could, as they propelled his smiling form up the the fence. He shouted "Daddy," again and again. I went inside, signed him out, then went to get him, when he practically launched himself into my arms.

I share this, because for a long time I have been frightened and nervous after loosing my faith, but I realize, I still have what is most important.

The love between a father and son mocks any god delusion. That's why so many sons are made to suffer and die in scriptural stories. Religious frauds are jealous of fatherhood. I wish I'd had a father strong enough to see that.

That "God so loved the world that he sent his only son" crap comes to mind. You mean he's God and he couldn't think of some other way? Why can't he simply say, "Everyone is forgiven," if he is all powerful, and then everyone is forgiven. The fact that he needs to use pain or suffering as a tool, shows a weakness or a limit to his powers, which means he is not truly God.

This is how Abraham would have felt about Isaac and yet God still thought it was a jolly wheeze to trick Abraham into thinking he needed to kill him.
