Naturally, I'm suspicious it has become a line item in this year's budget under the Buying New Friends category.
Well, I guess they got the part about diverting missionary money excised from the article.
It really shows the depth of the depravity, the serving of mammon, when you realize that the sons and daughters of these faithful paying and volunteering Mormons are often starving, being deprived of sleep and medical care, and being emotionally abused by traveling drill sergeants posing as spiritual leaders.
The exploitation doesn't come across in the article because they don't mention that these volunteers have been told they are called by divine revelation and cannot say no.
