I've found these kinds of statements make me sad:

"My soul waits for the Lord, more than those who watch for the morning." Psalm 130:6 New King James Version

Someone posted this this morning with a beautiful painting. How sad to forgo of the joy of this day, waiting for an imaginary one.

+1

Or "I give all the credit for my success to god. Without him I'd be nothing."

How very sad.

"I'll pray for you."

Really? Nice thought, but what a waste of energy. Would you consider redirecting a few dollars of your tithing to charity that actually helps people with my condition?

and warning for the future. I skipped out on several opportunities in deference to my religious beliefs. Fortunately I was also rebellious and took on a few, with a heavy helping of guilt of course.

I will live for today. I will live a good life, loving and helping those around me. Someday I'll be worm food and I don't want to lie dying wishing I had done more or taken a chance. My children will learn this as they get older.
