I'm working 12's for a few days.. YAY FOR TRIPLETIME!

Trying to keep my mind off the fact that my 'christian' family has shunned me yet again and that a quiet, uneventful, day is something to be happy about.
Every year's been a race up and down the Wasatch between my divorced parents and DH's family; trying to make everyone happy and walking on eggshells around my mother who always manages to rain down hellfire on everyone for some stupid reason or another and being berated for my life's choices and how I've, yet again, ruined HER day.

Think I may make take the little one out for a walk and make white russians later on.

Gotta love you some crazy TBM mamma! Without their hellfire, Christmas would be just another day... :)
Have fun with the little one!

It's just BF and I this year. He's watching the Star Wars Marathon and I'm bustling around my kitchen making a delicious meal.
We really enjoy the holidays together- no family pressures and no one to please but ourselves. (and sometimes together, lol)

And while I miss my family, it's been the most relaxing and enjoyable Christmas I've ever had.

We've spent the last 2 or 3 years just us and our kitty. It's actually very calm, relaxing, and fun! I miss my family as well, but I need the quiet and peace.

Holidays really have no special meaning to me anymore. They give me an excuse to cook an extravagent meal, but I would do that for Bastille Day, too. :)

I spend more time on here than I like to admit. I just hardly post. :-)

We did Christmas yesterday and I am boycotting my Brother's house for various reasons. Meh, Scrooged is on all day and we have homemade tamales. Heading out to Vegas in a few days. Kinda relaxing until then.

It's pretty gloomy out today or we'd head down to the beach.

He was much better this morning. He's going to call and try to get out of going back for more tests today. He has an infection and is taking a big dose of antibiotics. Ever try to find a true "24-hour" pharmacy at 9 pm on Christmas eve? Well, lots worse things could happen. I usually am able to quickly come up with an alternate plan when things go awry. I told my sister it's the stalwart pioneer genes.

I'm so sorry to hear your husband is not feeling well. My best wishes for a speedy recovery. Ya, pharmacies are hard to find on holidays!

There seems to be a lot of illness going around over this holiday. Three of my family has had a "bug"!
Hope the one visiting doesn't give us any new bugs!

I don't need an "excuse" to check in on the Goings On on RFM!
It's always interesting, new people are popping in all the time, and the insider humor is priceless!

I had Christmas Eve with my brother as my SIL has a lot of family in the area, so they already have 2 places to go today. We'll go there after dinner and have dessert with them at their place so they don't have to make another trip on what is already a long day. Tomorrow night, I'm going to Vegas to visit my mom as she now lives there.

I'm doing a little semi-mindless web-surfing while thinking about some writing issues and waiting for dinner to be ready. Oh, and trying to stay awake after those of us who are adults in the house stayed up until 4 this morning playing cards after all the presents were wrapped.

Because even if you're not with Mormon family this year, you still have to deal with self righteous bitches.

You would think that after the dog incident yesterday, things would be better today.

1) They are expecting US to keep the dog pinned up even though her dog is the one that attacked.

2) Religious self righteousness is not exclusive to Mormonism.

3) Being an atheist makes me and my fiancé second class citizens with his family.

Ugh. I think my fiancé and I should just celebrate at home from now on out.

Because the ex decided she wanted them today. It was nice having 5 of my 6 kids over. My other son is in Bolivia on a mission and will be calling very soon. Also I had my daughters husband and my oldest sons fiance over. They are all tbm, but all went well.

The best part was the Costco cheese cake selection (on sale to boot)
