Does anybody know if there would be consequences for a retired CES employee if he left church? I'm specifically referring to pension, retirement, benefits etc.
That is what I think as well but I can't imagine there aren't many more ExMo CES employees on boards like these raising hell. If that stuff isn't in jeopardy, the second I retired, I'd blow the whistle like crazy. So many of them can't really believe it is true with the research they do over their career. Ken Clark is awesome to me and he actually has made me upset with my own father who is retired CES because I know he knows many of the church's issues.
Even though it may be illegal for them to take away your benefits, I would check what the laws say on the subject, specifically the laws in Utah, and even then I might not officially resign, just to stay under the radar. The church is known for obeying the law, only when it suits them. Murdering wagon trains is illegal as well, after all.
