Both of my elderly parents were hard-line Mittens Kittens. When I visited them over the Xmas holidays, they were making funeral arrangements.

P.S. I am furious at the moment for the huge sum their funeral arrangements are going to cost them. Not included in the cost: burial and a headstone. These are seperate costs. What a scam.

The funeral biz is one of the biggest scams goin.

After paying a small fortune for our plot, I've decided to donate my bod to science.

After that, a little baptism by fire ought to do the trick...

My wife still wants to go in the ground...

I'm going au naturale when it is my time... Isn't it a racket that you "can't" die for free? Not that you'll be needing the money where you are going, but it could go to better causes. Mine will.

I don't even have cable or an antenna on my TV. If it isn't on Netflix, I don't watch anything...

After all, the Plan of Salvation was thwarted when the election was stolen from Willard. It was his and Ann's turn, you know.

I do know some Mormons who voted for Obama. The majority who didn't are likely mourning.

Ode to Mittens by Jean Ann Esselink:

You pursued a cutthroat game plan,
In your brutal Primary fight.
Wherever your opponent stood,
You scurried to his right.
You thought you’d shake the Etch- a-Sketch,
And start again anew.
And that’s why we’re not inaugurating you.

When a soldier in Afghanistan,
Asked if you had your say,
Would you reinstate Don’t Ask Don’t Tell?
And told you he was gay.
You stood there without speaking,
When the crowd began to boo.
And that’s why we’re not inaugurating you.

You didn’t speak when Sandra Fluke,
Was called a “slut” by Rush.
You were silent when your party,
Tried to take our votes from us.
You said nothing when Todd Akin,
Claimed that not all rapes are true.
And that’s why we’re not inaugurating you.

When asked if you would sign,
A woman’s Right to Choose away,
You’d answer women only cared,
How much was in their pay.
You made Ann your link to women,
When she never had a clue.
And that’s why we’re not inaugurating you.

You embarrassed us in Europe,
Wherever you would go.
Ann’s horse made the Olympics,
But you didn’t even show.
You’d have let Michigan go bankrupt,
From Detroit to Kalamazoo.
And that’s why we’re not inaugurating you.

You thought, like you, that everyone,
Loved nothing more than money.
And shaving off a classmates hair,
Was your idea of funny.
You like your women bound in binders,
Unless they’re pregnant in a shoe.
And that’s why we’re not inaugurating you.

You gave millions to the Mormons,
To Fund Proposition Eight.
You may have called that charity,
Gay couples call it “hate”.
You threatened to kill Big Bird,
And you’re married to a shrew.
And that’s why we’re not inaugurating you.

There are forty-seven percent of us,
For whom you had no care.
You claimed it wasn’t our concern,
If you were taxed your share.
In your heart, you didn’t love us,
And we didn’t love you too.
And that’s why we’re not inaugurating you.

Ugh a TBM friend posted a pic on FB proclaiming today as the day of mourning and how sad it was that the president did not represent the people. Last I checked the majority picked him!

OTOH my TBM democratic aunt celebrated by reading the presidential speech. She voted for Obama. :)

The relatively few hardline conservative Facebook "friends" of mine have ALL larely been posting virulent anti-Obama-the-Muslim and lets all remember what a swell guy Ronnie Reagan was posts. Its disturbing as well as kind of pathetic and funny. Oh yes, in poor taste too. MLK Day observance? Heck no, not even a passing reference. That wiuld be too liberal...

He had a couple of the Reagan was practically a freakin demigod posts up, crediting him with things he just didn't do, and I corrected him. Must have shocked the hell out of him that little me, a woman! dared to set him straight on verifiable facts instead of fantasy. Boo hoo, he booted me promptly. Over Reagan. Astounding. Today's portents must have been just too much for his fragile sense of... whatever.

I do not think Mittens supporters even watched, after all, he said he was not going to. I do not think they could take the references to gay rights, MLK day, immigrants and the poor in Obama's speech. Not to mention how very fine Michelle and their daughters looked.

Just think how unclassy it would have been had it been Mitt's inauguration. The Mo Tab choir instead of the Brooklyn Tabernacle gospel group, Marie and the Osmonds instead of Beyonce, Monson doing the invocation, the BYU marching band, and worst of all, the luncheon! Funeral potatoes, four kinds of jello salad, stale cookies from Cosco, and a toast in sugary non-alcoholic punch. Served by the Relief society of course!

Instead the 15 went to Mitt's house in La Jolla and watched their armored cars go up an down on his car elevator...

Nice one quinlansolo but these things are paid for by private contributions:

"Thankfully, most of that pomp and circumstance is funded via contributions, collected by the Presidential Inaugural Committee 2013, or PIC, the group responsible for celebrations such as the National Day of Service, the Kids’ Inaugural Concert, the Inaugural Parade and the Inaugural Ball." Who was the young black man standing next to Malia and Sasha? He seemed to be chatting them up. Did anyone else notice?

Several times yesterday I thought about how different the day would have been if it had been the other way around. Made me shudder to think of the phrase "First Lady Ann Romney." Thank GOD we'll never have to hear that and my granddaughters have a First Lady I'd like them to emulate.

No, the mormons weren't watching. They were standing in long lines at the gun range waiting their turn. In honor of the inauguration I'm sure the oh-so-patriotic Mos put Obama's picture on the targets.

I had no desire to watch the inauguration. None. I doubt VERY much that anyone who didn't vote for him watched it. The inauguration isn't like the state of the union address that actually means something.

Whenever I see any politician speak I see them lie. There isn't enough toilet paper to mop up after the dribbling sh!t of Obama. He's made it legal for US forces to assassinate US citizens, and he's expanded on the evil Patriot Act. Land of the free?

PS, I'm not an American or a fan of Republicans. I'm just old enough to see them for what they are.

Oh, and promising to act on climate change as the crowd shivers. What a New World Order vermin.

I also know Mormons who did vote for Obama, so they most likely watched the inauguration. I'm sure there were Romney supporters who didn't watch because Mitt said he wasn't going to. They probably took their kids to the gun range so they could play with their BB guns they were given at Christmas.

None of the ones I know would ever have watched it. The ones who weren't at work, were out buying more guns.
