He's just following the prime directive.

Everyone once in a while when he thinks Star Fleet isn't looking he helps someone find their keys.

I find that the God I worship just happens to share my biases and want exactly what I want. He also lives in the gaps of knowledge where nobody can see him. When popular culture changes, so do my previous statements of belief. My faith is so comforting to me that I want to enact laws to make everyone else act according to my religious views.

Oh... cause I was thinking the off switch on the cloaking device was busted. If he cuts the power to it, the shields will be dropped and the satanic clingons will attack at the first opportunity.

I don't know why science would ever deny this. The idea of unicorns is Biblical, and the Bible has been around longer than they're fancy-boy scientific mumbo-jumbo.

If you don't think unicorns don't exist, prove it! Otherwise, you should put unicorns on the endangered species lists, create Nature shows on PBS about them, and study their elusive lifestyles.

Oh, and most importantly, high school Biology and Zoology courses should include unicorns in the curriculum, and all the unicorn themed books in Elementary Schools should be moved to the non-fiction section.

...it need not be all-loving. It could be a total @sshole. It could be a joker. It could have made us out of total boredom. And so on. And it's not necessary that we're its #1 concern. Or even its hundred-billionth concern. We could be something it made and then, like an artist's early, less successful work, got tossed in a corner somewhere, rotting and being nibbled on by mice.

This is the second post of yours I've read today in which every word made me nod my head. And the nibbling mice metaphor was very good. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

"Godfellas." Bender gets his turn to be God.

At the end of the episode:
The camera zooms out from Earth, past planets, through space, and back to God, who chuckles and repeats his earlier advice to Bender: "When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all." ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godfellas )

I always liked Gary Larson's (Far Side) ideas about God. Like this one:

How come the prime directive sounds a lot like deism ?

To me, 'the prime directive' is akin to the stance most social scientists take: observe, learn, interpret, measure, record, etc... but do not interfere. This anthropology 101. (generally speaking)
