Interesting article on LDS church owned KSL.com. Interesting that we have things like barley in the BofM but JS missed listing the very popular cacao beans.

Ugh. They have a rather biased definition of "North America". Older examples have been found in Mexico, which, by definition is in North America.

Nonetheless, a very cool find. Really shows how extensive the trade networks were.

Maybe a senine is actually a Hershey bar--I mean, you can divide that up easily, and it tastes a hell of a lot better than barley...

The excuse I usually hear is that they mention medicinal herbs in the BoM. So any plant that we find in America that wasn't referenced in the BoM must have just been used for medicinal purposes.

After all, why would they mention the Cacao Bean if they just used it for headaches, when they said they have medicine?

I know... it's weak. But, I have heard it.
