That was a remarkable video. Ruby Jessop came off looking much better than the folks who are choosing to stay in the FLDS cult culture.
An interview with Arizona law enforcement follows the Jessop interview. Apparently, a lot of difficulties pop up when legit law enforcement tries to decertify the FLDS marshalls.
Go Ruby! What a beautiful courageous woman. She has set herself, her children, grandchildren, and many future generation free. What better gift can you give your family than freedom to be who they are?
I hope Ruby gets all of the help, support, and education that her and her children need.
That gave me chills. Good for Ruby! Tugs at the heart.
As I watched all the different segments of the story I couldn't help but think how similar it all is to the TBMs. I know they would see themselves as different, but I only see them as a watered down version of the same thing.
Doing whatever the Prophet says. How many TBMs would pack up and head to Missouri? How many do the bishop's bidding. How many donated their nest egg to Prop 8?
Kids working on the welfare farm. I did. And I built the church for free.
Refusal to listen to or engage in anything outside of the church-- 'In the world but not of the world'. Avoid even the appearance of evil. Stay away from the apostates. Don't read anything not church approved.
The clothes? Mormon women not even allowed to show a shoulder!?
So you see those FLDS kids already indoctrinated and you have to think about Primary. Jesus wants you for a sunbeam--forever.
Mormonism. Watered down version or just better at flying under the radar?
