How exactly is the BSA gay thing a problem for the LDS Church? The LDS church has already said its "okay" to be gay as long as you don't practice/preach it. So in that sense its okay for a Mormon boy to be a Boy Scout. As for leaders, the ward picks who they want as a leader, so they can always get a "worthy" straight priesthood dude. The individual troops operate fairly independently, so the LDS ward can basically run the troop as they please. Its not like they are going to be forced to teach how being gay is okay or anything. I have a hard time seeing BSA having to even mention homosexuality. All thats going to happen is that there will be a policy change where they allow openly gay men and boys to join. Its not like a gay couple are going to run around holding hands or get have a wedding ceremony at a Boy Scout camp out or the boys are gonna have to pledge in the their Scout Oath that "gays are good."
BSA letting gays into their org simply allows gays to join in the organization. I don't really see how it affects anything for the LDS troop.
To me its not any different than letting LDS boys go to school where some students and teachers might be openly gay.
