I remember a few of these. They really make the Mo's look so righteous and decent... My husband says watching them makes him sick because he knows how hypocritical the messages are. I think Tom Bosley did the voiceover for a couple of them.

The first lot some of those freaked me out. Those thi ngs with saying not to put labels in your kids I wish my parants and brother and siste had herd that because that would have herd that but oh no out in the mission field we dont get things like that.

In the second one with that woman that just wants to belong to someone maybe its just me that wants a companion not to be compared to a bag of sweets in a guys pocket that he can greedely say is his.

And all of them are so american and I have nothing against americans but the culture even here in england is diffrent and sometimes it was very imcompatable with the incredable american inffluance of moremon teachings. For one example you can shoose to leae school at sixteen here. So sixteen year olds that are in fulltime work and may have even finished thair education as they see it are often treated like twelve year olds still needing to go to activities with the young kids. Early morning ceminaery as well as keeping your own flat or house working smoothly plus full time work is just insane. Though it's rare for that to happen I know it was tough for me being in a collage across the contry from my parants and it meant I was quite litearly living on my own and looking after myself.

The intire lot of adverts kind of reminds me that people in the missionfield are out there litearely on thair own. If your in Utah atlest things are set up for you out here no such luck.

Back when I was a kid, the Mormon ads were on TV all the time. Growing up in VA, I knew nothing about Mormons. Then I married my husband, who is an exmo, and I learned more about the Mormons... I think those ads are incredibly hypocritical and yes, very American.

Where is the 'Who broke my window?' commercial? That one was a classic.

That's Alfonso Ribeiro who was on Fresh Prince of Bel Aire with Will Smith. Apparently he's currently hosting a game show on the Game Show Network.

One of those announcers sounds like the guy who used to do the Smuckers ads, too.
