Just curious. I mean, tea is against the WoW... I had to sing that song when I pledged a music fraternity, but I was ingesting stuff that was way worse than tea. Do they substitute cocoa or Postum for the teapot?

It is not in the official children's songbook.

But I know members stuck in the nursery will resort to it to keep the kids entertained.

Official children's songbook? Nope, not a cult.

I had a TBM girlfriend who got some mugs as a going away present when she was about to head off to BYU. I made the mistake of calling them coffee mugs. (I was raised as a heathen methodist and hadn't yet converted for her) She and one of her sisters almost simultaneously said "They're SOUP mugs!"

There was a great rendition of a version of this in the October general conference 1994. It was sung by the LDS children's choir. It was titled "I am a little piggy bank" the lyrics went something like this "I am a little piggybank, short and stout, here is my ten percent, here is the rest, when you make me feel guilty I will shout: take it all and build a mall" the choir was then joined by the quorum of the 12, who sang " You are a little tea pot, little fool, bend right over and gimme cash". There was not a dry eye in the house.

That seems VERY appropriate, now that I think about it...

No, we didn't sing that, but I remember the words to "I Hope They Call Me on a Mission" and the thought of it still fills me with dread.

I remember doing Head Shoulders Knees and Toes at church when I was little. When I received the washing & anointing in the temple as an adult, I thought about that.

I used to sing that song to my little students in Armenia. They loved it.

Mormon homes don't have teapots, but there are many "potty training" chairs. So they should sing "I'm a little pee pot."
