Yesterday, my TBM (adopted) mother, who I love dearly and has helped me through so much in the past three years, paid for my coffee and saw for the first time that I am not wearing garments.

She acted completely normal and made no comments at all. I was very proud of her and impressed that she seemed to accept (my opinion of) what I have had a hard time explaining to her about the church.

I am waiting for her to say something...but yesterday was a big step forward.

Write her a note that says, "Thank you for being a loving Mom. I love you, too."

I agree, a short simple note, not mentioning the circumstance, but just expressing your life would be greatly appreciated and go a long way to keep your relationship.

I wish I could experience something like that. I'm happy for you! And I agree, a note would mean a lot
