Confusion is looking for tomatoes in the fruit section on the Kroger self-checkout line.

Warm tomatoes out of the garden with a big spponful of cottage cheese. Heaven. Better than sex any day.

Are we talking about those tasteless reddish things you can find at the grocery store...

or luscious orbs of manna, homegrown and ripe?

If it is the latter, add a bit of kosher salt and olive oil and I'm in.

and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. . .

who could possibly care about the Celestial Kingdom when it's available right here, fresh out of your garden??

Nothing fancy, but tomato sauce and chili spices on the meat and garnished with cheese, chopped lettuce, and more tomatoes...

And I'd stopped by WalMart for the taco shells, and as much for excercise as anything...

And low and behold, for a very reasonable three bucks a pound were some bing cherries from Chile...

I shall report on them shortly...

My provisional working hypothesis is that it's important in recovery to occasionally indulge one's self...

Unless I have made up that hilarious thing I picture when reading your moniker.

Oh' how it warms the heart.

Laughter.

Place was deserted because of the bad weather...

Usually it's spilling over outside, and no way will I go try to wade through the crowds...

I just had a regular taco in a combo plate; these I just fixed are every bit as good... I'll give the Don Ramon a go next time, as long as it has a corn tortilla wrapped around it...

I probably should have gone fancier (other guy was buying), but I wanted a cheese enchilada...

Best restaurant regular taco in the valley, IMHO, are at El Farol's in Midvale on 7200 State... Never any crowds there...

Cherries are mostly past their prime, but what the heck, it's January...

It also has a dinning bar that can get you past a line if you don't mind sitting at a diner style bar.

The tacos Don Ramon are made with Chorizo.

Also, ask for the Mole sampler. They bring out samples of 6 moles and does not cost anything, it makes the chips into an appetizer.

Mole Negro or Enchiladas Suiza at Red Iguana are something to die for. Hard to go wrong with anything they serve.

As for El Farol's....do they still have those chips with hot beans and salsa fresca... and kinda like Macho Nacho's? More than 15 years since I enjoyed those. I once craved them on a weekly basis.

Enjoy the culinary delights in SLC Mexican dining!

I've been enjoying read and posting here when I have something to add. I've chuckled from time to time. Tusk, tusked once or twice. But never before have I clutched my sides and roared with laughter!

MJ my hat is off to you.

And that is from one who prides himself on the turn of a phrase.

Magnificent!
