What was I thinking?

Many times over the last few months as I have distanced myself from the Mormon religion, I have asked myself... What was I thinking when I joined this church?
And some days all I can say is I don't know.
But the other day, I did tell a friend:

"in my defense they only tell you a fraction of the wacky stuff when they convert you and they send sexy 19 year old boys to do it"

How long have you been in? And what are your plans? Are you going to leave it? Seems like there is no better time than now!!! Hope my convert daughter feels like you one day.

They seem so clean cut, honest, and wholesome.

They provide instant answers and a fellowshipping community.

Once you're hooked, they very gradually tell you the crazy side and it's couched in apologetics and comforting platitudes. It's stystem of deceit that's been developed and refined over many years. No one would join otherwise.
