http://m.psychologytoday.com/articles/201305/confessions-sociopath

very interesting article, towards the end of the article the author states that the Mormon Church is a perfect place for sociopaths because they believe that they are God like.

"Its pseudonymous author, M.E. Thomas, describes herself as a law professor and a Mormon who tithes and teaches Sunday school. Even more surprisingly, she claims to have 'a close circle of family and friends whom I love and who very much love me.' "

She's posting under a fake name so she can continue to teach Sunday School.I wonder how much of her book deals with her experience with Mormonism. It seems people who have the power of discernment are especially easy to fool.

From her blog:

"Although the Mormon religion is sort of uniquely suited to my mindset -- we're all gods in embryo and will continue to progress until we have unimaginable power? Yeah, that appeals to me. I like that combined with the Mormon story of Moses, who is shown a vision of just a fraction of time and expanse of the universe and faints. Upon waking Moses says about his experience: 'Now, for this cause I know that man is nothing, which thing I never had supposed.' So I like that too, this idea that we all have a universe of potential but that we don't come even close to expressing a fraction of that potential yet. It makes me feel like there is a lot to look forward to still."

She quotes from a conference talk to show that the Mormon church
accepts people of diverse personalities including sociopaths:

"But while the Atonement is meant to help us all become more like Christ, it is not meant to make us all the same. Sometimes we confuse differences in personality with sin. We can even make the mistake of thinking that because someone is different from us, it must mean they are not pleasing to God. This line of thinking leads some to believe that the Church wants to create every member from a single mold—that each one should look, feel, think, and behave like every other. This would contradict the genius of God, who created every man different from his brother, every son different from his father. Even identical twins are not identical in their personalities and spiritual identities."

"A reader sent me this link to the recent sentencing of an 18 year old Mormon girl who as a 14 year old killed a nine year old neighbor..... 'I gotta go to church now'? Hm. I'm so curious to hear her opinion on religion. And she's female. Such an interesting story."

My sociopath ex was, in talks and prayers, constantly comparing himself to Joseph Smith and to Jesus Christ. He was dead serious, and it was embarrassing as hell for me to be sitting there and married to this nut.

It's interesting to note that she says "my actions are what matters", but appearantly stealing and lying aren't actions that counts. Still, one would hope she stays a believer...
