According to church doctrine, little children are sinless because they are born innocent, with out sin, and can't be tempted by Satan until they they reach the age of accountability. But, leaders keep teaching the concept of baptism and repentance to primary children as being something that lets newly turned 8 year olds have all of the sins they had committed up to that point "washed away" and absolved.

Both can't be true, right? So which is it in the church? Which do they really believe?

Given the doctrine of the pre-existence, newborns can even be not sinless.

In the past it was assumed that black babies were not born sinless.

EVERYONE is sinless since there is no such thing as sin.

A simple little contradiction there... One of thousands that TBM's never think about. The truth is.. babies are born sinless. And they are born atheists.

BASICALLY THIS IS ONE OF THOSE Mormon/christian dogma clashes. Christianity says we all need forgiveness, that we're born in sin. And LDS say children cant be tempted by satan. They cant discount the need for forgiveness,KINDA negates the need for savior. But we're all Gods in embryo.
