I'll bet they're really hating it in Mr. Dodge's office these days.

I will bet that Greg is nearing defcon three - when they have to increase the living member deletion age to 112 from 110 to ensure member numbers keep on growing.

If baptisms in South America start to slow down I'm betting the new 'South African Plains' model for the location of the Book of Mormon may have to be instigated....

and merge it with the existing theory about africa:
"Who placed the Negroes originally in darkest Africa? Was it some man, or was it God? And when He placed them there, He segregated them.

Apostle Mark E. Petersen

but isnt africa one of the *lightest*, sunniest, warmest places on earth?

my home teachers called to ask if they could come visit me that same night. coincidence? i dont know.

tonight, the bishop called and said he had received info about my request to resign. he asked me if i wanted to do it the normal way (wait 30 days) or do it quickly so i told him to do it immediately.

he didnt even ask me WHY i was resigning. i find it very odd that in all the time i have been so public about my disbelief of the church that not ONE person in the bishopric EVER said anything. it makes me wonder if they are scared to talk to me or scared of hearing something that might shake their faith???

anyways, the bishop said he would send me a letter in the mail. i didnt catch whether he wanted me to sign it or if it would just be an official confirmation of my resignation.

Yes, there might be some fear on their parts, because you are BEING DECEIVED BY........SATAN (echo)!! lol Whenever I hear or think of the word SATAN it always reminds me of Churchlady. :)

The letter from the BP is just an official confirmation and nothing you need to sign.

Fear on their part. They don't want to offend you. You've been "public about your disbelief." Their attitude may be good riddance (sorry if that sounds harsh) because they don't think they can salvage you and they just see you as a source of non-faith promotion in their midst. You are making their club life a little troubled and by not having you there, things are tidier.

Yes they are afraid to confront you. They have no answers.
