Just reading about the Nobel Peace Prize, and wondered which Mormons have been recognized as advancing humanity the most.

Did Philo Farnsworth win the Nobel Prize?

He has many, many patents, but he's really an exmo, not a mormon.

It seems that Filo T. Farnsworth left the church for a while due to his research, or perhaps for other reasons, when he lived in California. But I read an article saying he moved his wife back to SLC in the 1960s and they were married in the temple. He died in 1971.

Besides many bitter battles over royalties and patent rights, he had many disappointments in his life, including bouts of depression and alcoholism, a "nervous breakdown", and the death of a young child early in his marriage.

I remember when Farnsworth was on What's My Line?, and won two cartons of Winston cigarettes.
