My TBM relatives are on their 4th senior mission and are in Central America. They had a Magnitude 5 quake there on Sunday and blogged about it a bit. One of the other senior missionaries made a comment that was repeated in the blog. She said she hoped the earth could find peace and not shake so much from all the evil on the earth. Wow. Does every freaking thing that happens have to have a religious overtone?

"Does every freaking thing that happens have to have a religious overtone?"

Sure it does, when your entire perspective is driven by that. And more, the arguments they make are irrefutable. No one can prove that earthquakes AREN'T from "all the evil."

What I find more troubling is the whole "all the evil" mindset. Sure, bad people do bad stuff nowadays. But from my limited knowledge of history, these are actually pretty peaceful times.
