The act of trying to make something hopelessly weak and unattractive appear strong and appealing. An impossible process that usually results in a larger, uglier turd.

AKA Mormon missionary program...

mis labeling endless harassment of the public around the world by LDS Inc's full time missionary army by referring to that harassment as "service" to others is just one aspect of LDS Inc Turd polishing.

Also, going to church and reading scriptures are two of the most boring activities you could do, but they try to make them out to be awesome experiences.

In a typical MORmON context its very (AGONIZINGLY) boring. But I have a friend who knows how to make it very entertaining. He reads the scripture and then is totally uninhibited in adding the ACTUAL biblical meaning / interpretation of the scripture which almost always goes against the grain of the MORmON interpretation of the scripture. Of course the MORmONS cant wait to *correct* him and assert the MORmON interpretation, but he is just as insistent as the MORmONS in asserting the biblical context.
and MORmONS get really irritated when they are exposed to MORmON style treatment, especially in conjunction with truth/ reality.
I am at the stage of my life where I enjoy seeing MORmONS get frustated.

You know, people on this forum use the whole "you can't polish a turd" idiom here a lot, but...

I think the stupidest part of it is that they go on about "Everyone recognizes our missionaries because they're so special and that's why everyone likes them, because they recognize them!" When it's actually the exact opposite. Most people think "ugh. It's those missionaries AGAIN. What a cult!"

MythBusters proved that it is possible to polish a turd.

The thing is, while it might be shiny, you can't change the fact that it's a turd.
