Is Janet Bennion a Mormon?

She's an anthropologist who apparently promotes polygamy as a potentially healthy lifestyle. But I can't find anything peer reviewed. Anyone know anything about them?

She was raised in a TBM mormon family in Vernon Utah, and lived with polygamists as part of her graduate study. I heard she is no longer a member. She is definitely not a fundy. She is very approachable, if you email her with questions I bet she would reply.

Her brother John is an associate professor at BYU ... he has a unique perspective on mormonism, but probably does not let it show too much at the Y...

Interesting. He is a 'go to' author for my own research.

Possibly. I have encountered the name within Mormonism before (in disparate locations).

Thank you for your answers.

I might just email her. She's being touted as a scientist with research showing the benefits of polygamy. I suspect she's either being misrepresented or she's confused. I know I saw several books she had written but I haven't seen any peer reviewed articles on research she's done -- so I was curious.
